Polk Audio MagniFi Mini Home Theater

I don't write many reviews, but I felt the need to do so with this item. I can't say enough about the Polk MagniFi Mini system. If it's within your budget, you won't regret getting this. Without a doubt, this is the best sound bar of its size I have ever heard. It blows away many sound bars that are much larger and cost much more. HI's, midrange, and bass are all accurately reproduced with fantastic separation. It gets louder than I need it to with absolutely no distortion. I have nothing negative to say about this sound bar. I can't imagine anyone not being satisfied.

Update 9/27/2017 - I experienced a problem where the subwoofer stopped working properly. It had to be re-synced every time the soundbar was turned off and then back on. A single call to Polk customer service resulted in them sending a new system immediately. The new system is working as it should. So, not only does the MagniFi Mini get 5 stars, so does Polk customer service.

So, the larger your battery the more you can drain it before it "runs out of juice". The capacity on this UPS allows me to run my wireless access point and cable modem for at last half an hour in the event of a blackout, and also lets me shutdown my main computer cleanly after a few minutes to reduce corruption when actual blackouts occur. After looking for a new surround sound system for the last few months, I was about to pay a lot more for a system that I really couldn't use. I was looking at a 7.1 Dolby Atmos from Onkyo, but I really didn't have the room for the extra two surround speakers. I had even thought about mounting them on the ceiling, yet the size that came with the other unit was just too big. Then, by luck, this new setup came out. It has everything I needed. Just 5 speaker enclosures with the extra 2 being apart of the fronts. They point up and bounce the sound off of the ceiling. Look up Dolby Atmos enabled speakers and you'll see what a deal it is to get them with this package.

If your TV is new enough, it can either control the volume of the TV or keep sound from going to it completely to only use the surround sound. It can also be programmed to power on and off when you turn the TV on/off. I was also able to program my satellite box's remote to control the receiver without having to switch the remote settings back and forth to AV1/AV2.

Arrived on time in perfect condition. Product packaging was inside plain shipping box.

Easy to set up. Proprietary connectors on one end of the speaker cables but unterminated on the other. I was able to re-use my existing surround speakers (which are difficult to get to) with no problem. Speaker placement settings are manual but easy to do.

The unit is very small but delivers great sound. Speakers are comparable to Bose in size. Subwoofer is passive but delivers reasonably good bass. Several equalizer modes including a bass-boost.

Netflx and Hulu streaming are flawless with no re-buffering. I had that problem with my old Samsung Blue-Ray player but this one is fine.

DVD up sampling is excellent. I see no need to buy Blue-Ray discs.
