So, the larger your battery the more you can drain it before it "runs out of juice". The capacity on this UPS allows me to run my wireless access point and cable modem for at last half an hour in the event of a blackout, and also lets me shutdown my main computer cleanly after a few minutes to reduce corruption when actual blackouts occur. With brown outs, my computer and internet devices can all keep chugging away without interruption.

The simple management software provided allowed me to choose how my computer would behave in the event of a power outage. I selected the ability to shut my computer down sooner rather than later, in order to preserver the battery for use by my cable modem and wireless access point.
